Long before we had tractors, the farmers had to reap grain by hand. Once the grain was cut, the reaping hook would be used to gather it into sheaves for storage. This metal reaping hook could speak to us of untold hours in the hot sun, harvesting wheat, oats and hay. It was backbreaking work!
