Flintlock Firearm

Flintlock Firearm

$500.00

The flintlock represented a new iteration of personal firearm. This type of musket was used in the Straits during the War of 1812. The flintlock was much more durable and reliable than either the matchlock or wheellock. The user simply loaded the bullet, tamped it down and fired. There was no waiting for a wick to burn, and no moving parts to jam. It was a lighter gun, and much better suited to the wet, windy conditions. This particular example was manufactured by Harpers Ferry.
